HSA/FSA Eligible

FSA/HSA Payment Questions

What is Flex and what is their relationship to Soulo?

Soulo has partnered with Flex to make it easier to use HSA or FSA funds for purchases on our website. Flex handles the eligibility review and documentation so you can complete your purchase using your HSA/FSA account if approved.

An HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) are US-based pre-tax accounts for medical expenses.

HSA/FSA funds allow you to use pre-tax money to pay for eligible health-related products and services. This means you can often save 20–40% compared to paying out of pocket.

An FSA is usually provided through an employer and lets you set aside pre-tax funds to cover qualified medical expenses like prescriptions, copays, and certain health products. Many FSAs operate on a "use-it-or-lose-it" basis, meaning unused funds may expire at the end of the plan year.

An HSA is available to individuals enrolled in a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). Unlike FSAs, HSA funds typically roll over year to year, allowing you to save and use the money for future healthcare expenses.

Add products to your cart as usual. At checkout, select Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA as your payment option, enter your HSA or FSA debit card, and complete your checkout. If you don't see this option, you may be in Shop Pay — select "checkout as guest" to view all payment options.

If you don't have your HSA or FSA debit card handy, still select Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA as your payment method. You can enter a regular credit or debit card instead. A licensed provider will review your telehealth consultation, and within 2 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you both a Letter of Medical Necessity and an itemized receipt. Keep these documents for your records should your HSA/FSA provider or the IRS require additional documentation.

Make sure you are logged out of Shop Pay. The easiest way is to go through checkout in an incognito window.

HSA/FSA cards are debit cards, and the most common reason for a decline is insufficient funds. Reach out to your HSA/FSA administrator to confirm your balance.

Please check your spam folder, as emails from notifications@withflex.com may sometimes be filtered. If you still can't find it, please email support@withflex.com with the email address associated with your order.

Yes, sales tax for eligible items is also covered by HSA/FSA funds. If you have a split cart, the tax will be divided among the cards based on the items.

Letter of Medical Necessity

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?

Some products require documentation from a licensed healthcare provider stating that the item is necessary to treat or manage a specific medical condition. If required, Flex facilitates a chat-based telehealth consultation reviewed by a licensed provider. The Letter is typically provided within 2 hours.

To qualify to use your HSA or FSA card for the Soulo Nail Trimmer, the IRS requires a Letter of Medical Necessity. Soulo has partnered with Flex to facilitate this through a brief telehealth consultation at checkout. A licensed provider will review your consultation, and within 2 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you the Letter along with an itemized receipt.

Keep it on file for at least three years in the event of an IRS audit of your HSA or FSA account. Occasionally, FSA administrators may ask for the Letter to confirm the eligibility of your purchase.

Please email support@withflex.com and they will work with their telehealth team to reprocess and send your corrected Letter of Medical Necessity.
